Beim Aufstieg öffnen sich weite Ausblicke ins Steinalbtal und ins Glantal – und das Ganze in herrlicher Stille. Im zeitigen Frühjahr ist hier die unter Naturschutz stehende und sehr selten anzutreffende Küchenschelle zu bewundern. Nicht weit vom Mittagsfels entfernt erstreckt sich ein weiteres Naturschutzgebiet. Die Steinalbmündung bei Niederalben ƭŞljîƙƙƥ ŞĿƥ ĿĺƑĚŠ ǧǮȡǧǩɊĺî ĚĿŠĚ naturnahe Flussauenlandschaft mit Kies-, Sand- und Schotterbänken, Stillwasserzonen, Steilufern ƭŠē ƭDžîŕēċĚƑĚĿČĺĚŠȡ ØĿĚƙĚŠǜþČĺĚŠ ƙūDžĿĚ ĚĿŠĚŠ Hangwald mit Quellhorizonten. ƭČĺ ēîƙ ǧǨǨɊĺî ijƑūƤĚŠ Naturschutzgebiet Wartekopf liegt nicht weit entfernt. Es ist ein Biotopkomplex aus wärmeliebenden Eichen-Trockenwäldern, Felsen, Trockenrasen, Rotbuchenwald, Naturnahen Bächen und Magerwiesen. Zahlreiche wärme- und trockenĺĚĿƥƙŕĿĚċĚŠēĚ ¹ĿĚƑȹ ƭŠē ¡ǜîŠǕĚŠîƑƥĚŠ ŒūŞŞĚŠ ĺĿĚƑ DŽūƑȡ DžĿĚ ǕȦɊ Ȧ ēĿĚ qĚĺŕċĚĚƑĚȡ ēĿĚ ¬ČĺŕƲƙƙĚŕċŕƭŞĚ ūēĚƑ der braune Feuerfalter sowie viele Specht arten. In den Schluchten ist der seltene Schluchtwald ausgebildet mit natürlichen Vorkommen der Sommerlinde. The Mittagsfels nature reserve covers a total of about 21 hectares and is accessible along narrow paths. As you ascend, you have a wide view of the Steinalbtal and Glantal valleys – and all of this in wonderful silence.
